ACIRE stands for Areas of Restricted Circulation (Áreas de Circulación Restringida). These are special zones where access is only allowed for:
• Vehicles with an ACIRE card (residents of that zone).
• Public transport and authorised vehicles (e.g., goods vehicles).
In Mallorca:
There are currently 12 ACIRE zones in Palma de Mallorca, each with its own access points. For up-to-date information, consult the Palma City Council website.
offUgo recommends avoiding access by car to these marked zones and paying special attention to the corresponding traffic signs.
Some municipalities, such as Artà, Muro, Santa Margalida, Sóller, and Escorca, also have restricted areas for residents only. If your hotel is located in one of these areas, contact them in advance to arrange the permit and avoid fines.
